ES VELETOS SITADUS REPORTUS LASIT NO LATVIJAS ULTRAM, GAN IZLASES, GAN UEFA, GAN VIRSLIGAS SPELES+/- 900 Grasshoppers traveled to lyon which is a great number for us. Main group (arround 420) came with Train while others took Bus, Car or even Plane.
After an entertaining and way too short 6 hour ride, train arrived at 3pm in Lyon. Cops, some of them with sniffing dogs, awaited us on the Platform of Trainstation. First they wanted to check and film everyone seperately by letting just one person after another out of the waggon but after more and more supporters jumped out of the windows they realized that its not gonna be possible. They seemed to be very frustrated that it didnt worked out like they have scheduled. Only 2-3 supporters, at the end of the line, got searched while majority of us already gathered at the station hall.
From the start on some of the Cops acted ridiculous provocative with gestures and insults. Few of them even seemed to be drunk or on Charlie.
After a walk of 30min we arrived at our meeting point for the day in the Old town of Lyon with a lot of Bars/Pubs. Good spot with many side streets and alleys. Cops were always present but not in the numbers we have expected. Annoying were numerous plainclothes policeman, backed by spotters from Zurich(They know many of us by name).
Still, it wasnt a big problem to sneak away in smaller groups for a unattended walk through the alleys or to get some Bottles for free. One of these groups came across 3guys which introduced themselves as Bad Gones Lyon. They told them were we stay and asked if they will come for a "visit". French told them streetname, leading to our spot, for possible meeting but nothing happened. Guess these 3 guys were not members of Bad Gones Group and just wanted to "act up".
Arround 6:30pm we started our corteo towards the stadium(1h walk) escorted by +/- 60 Cops and cars with fences. First smaller incident when cops tried to arrest a guy which applied a sticker just next to them on a street signal. Few Bottles and cans were thrown but things calmed down quickly and we continued walking. Arround 2km infront of the stadium we increased our tempo in order to make it into the ground in time. When the Entrances were in sight distance people started running towards them but Cops suddenly sprayed rsg 2000 into the frontline. Several lads got blind for more than 30min and needed to be guided from their friends. Some of them were full of pepper from head to toe that even 3m away from them breathing was difficult. Most of the cops found that funny but few of them helped heavely affected persons with antidote. First they got attacked because most thought its a trap but soon we realised that they realy want to help and feel ashamed of their comrades.
The Entrance was full of fences with 4 lines of Cops and stewards. Procedur at the first line of stewards took way too long(only 5pers at a time). People started pushing until cops rushed in with Batons forcing us to move backwards. Every person got body searched 4 times but the controls werent that strict like we are used from switzerland (touching balls, shoes off). Few got taken aside by police and got searched with Dog but they found only one flare. This person tried resist detention but soon was taken to the ground. He got released the next day and faces trial now. Another one was captured with a bottle of Vodka but they released him after 40min.
Cops here were real assholes. While searching they took smartphones and threw them to the ground, made sarcastic comments and pushed people arround. Flagsticks were not allowed and we also had problems to bring the drum & megaphone inside. This is the reason for the Tifo presented at start of second half and not in the beginning like we have planned. Some groups managed to bring few flagpoles inside but most of them were taken and not given back after the game. In a Inattentive moment from security we were able to bring the box with small Blue/white plastic flags inside. At start of the game nearly everyone made it into the sector.
Our Team played very well and i personally think support was among the best from us in the last years. It got even louder when we were 0-1 back.
Second Half Tifo and little usage of pyro.
Minus for us: A steward came into sector and removed some pyro from the ground. On the other hand a big mob of cops in riot gear were just waiting on the side for something to happen and by letting the steward doing his Job we avoided any big trouble with police.
After they game, which we lost, we were held for another hour in our sector and then escorted to metro station. Some started singing ACAB, Puta Policia and humorous "No Pastis, No Peace" when one cop completely lost his mind starting to scream he cant suffer this anymore and had to be held back from other cops. Was a funny situation and when cops started to shout his name "Maurice! Stop!" some made immediately a song out of it which made him, of course, even more angry nearly on the limit to cry. We all had a big laugh.
Trainride back took about 9.1/2h and most of us arrived in Zurich without any sleep despite many had to go to work directly.
Was a nice trip.
